After 30 years, women's advocate Helen Higgins bids adieu to frontline work

"With over 30 years of experience working with women and teens at shelters and halfway houses, Helen Higgins carries many stories with her. 

In June, 2011, Higgins started working at La Maison Rosewood Shelter, in Midland. This year, June is a significant month for her. The first week marked 14 years with the organization. Later, on the 26th, she will celebrate both her 66th birthday and her retirement."
